Supporting Green Tourism
We are extremely passionate about our part in caring for the environment and how we can help in any way possible.
From January 2014, government initiative Zero Waste Scotland has set an ambitious target of 70% recycling and just 5% of waste going to landfill by 2025.
This will be achieved by requiring all businesses, large and small, to separate plastic, glass, metal, paper and card for recycling.
At Grampian Campervan Hire, we are taking proactive steps towards helping to meet this target and ensuring our business has minimal impact on our environment.
We have implemented a number of measures in our campervans to reduce the impact on our environment;
- Our vans come fully equipped, so there is no need for customers to purchase one-time use items for their trip
- All accessories provided in the vans are reusable, from BBQs to washing bags
- Our plates, cups and cutlery are made from bamboo and fully reusable
- All cleaning products provided in the vans and used by us to maintain the vans are eco friendly and biodegradable. They are bought locally from the Ethical Gift Shop & Refillery in Huntly, so we are supporting other local small businesses too.
- We actively encourage our customers to recycle their waste items
- Plastic bags are not supplied in our vans. For items requiring bags, we provide handmade material bags which we make ourselves
- Family games and educational information is provided in our vans to teach children how to respect our countryside, nature, wildlife and the environment
Around our site we have also implemented environmentally friendly measures, including;
- Creation of compost bins using reusable materials to reduce our landfill waste
- Installation of waste disposal facilities for campervans and caravans, which both our customers and persons visiting our site are able to use to dispose of grey and black waste
- Bird boxes installed around our site to nurture our local wildlife
We will continue to implement the necessary measures to ensure we actively play our part in sustainability and promoting the circular economy.

Don’t hesitate to book with Grampian Campervan hire! We hired a dog friendly camper van from Mieke in the autumn and the experience was so good we ended up buying one from her too! We absolutely loved dealing with Mieke, she was dedicated and knowledgeable about all aspects of her vans and keeps them in fantastic condition. The hire and purchase process were both really straight forward and Mieke went out of her way to help us. We would 100% recommend her to anyone who wants to hire or buy a campervan.

We had a great experience hiring Dunnydeer. It was our first time driving and hiring a Campervan but Mieke made it so easy . The intro to the van was well explained and full of helpful tips . The van itself was really well stocked with lots of thoughtful touches. The bed was super comfy and we slept like babies even during the storms lol. The overall experience was simply fabulous and if you are thinking of hiring a Campervan then this is the place for you. Even after we had finished our hire Mieke got in touch a few days later to see if the glasses case she found was ours and then posted it back to us at her own expense. May not be a big deal to some people but sometimes it the small touches that show real class and Mieke has that. Thanks again and hope to be back !
