Located to the far north of Scotland, Orkney and Shetland may lie beside each other, but their individual offerings are distinctly unique.

Just a little further north lies Shetland, an ideal spot for seeking out the northern lights in winter months, followed by the wonderous fire-lit skies of January's Up Helly Aa celebrations. The sunrises and sunsets are stunning, and the appeal of never reaching darkness in mid-summer leaves more time to explore the unreached and unseen.
